Focus and Scope

Acta Biológica Paranaense, journal of the Biological Sciences Sector (UFPR), is intended for the publication of scientific papers in the various areas of biological sciences, without limitation in the scope of the study and institution of the authors. Original manuscripts, scientific notes and reviews are accepted for submission. We do not charge a publication fee (APC). The publication is in continuous flow.

Peer Review Process

All submissions to the journal are initially reviewed by the Editorial Team to check their relevance and scope fitting. Manuscripts that are not instantly rejected are sent out for peer review, usually to two independent reserarchers in a single-blind review (double-blind under demand). Based on the feedback from these reviewers and the Editors' judgment a decision is given on the manuscript. Authors must indicate in the submission letter the name and contact details of two possible reviewers. Reviewers can reveal their identity during the process.
