Xanthopedia larocai, um Paratetrapediini do cerrado do Nordeste Paranaense (Hymenoptera , Apoidea)

Resumo

Xanthopedia larocai sp. n. foi coletada em um dos últimos relictos de cerrado, um tipo de savana, do Nordeste paranaense Jaguariaíva, principalmente em flores de Acosmium subelegans e Byrsonima intermedia (Malpighiaceae). É a segunda espécie do gênero Xanthopedia (Anthophoridae, Exomalopsinae, Paratetrapediini), até agora representado sómente por X. iheringii (Friese, 1899). A nova espécie, variável na cor, é mais escura que a espécie tipo e pode ser facilmente reconhecida por uma pontuação profunda circundada por uma forte carena no macho, ou pela presença de uma carena em V invertido na fêmea no topo da área supraclipeal.

Abstract

Xanthopedia larocai sp. n. was collected in the last remains of cerrado, a kind of savanna, in the Northeasten region of the Paraná State Jaguariaíva, mainly in flowers of Acosmium subelegans (Leguminosae) and Byrsonima intermedia (Malpighiaeeae). It is the second species of the genus Xanthopedia (Anthophoridae, Exomalopsinae. Paratetrapediini), until now represented only by X. iheringii (Friese. 1899). The new species, quite variable in color, is much darker than the type species and can be easily recognized by a peculiar deep puncture encircled by a strong carina in the male. or under a carina in a reversed V in the female on the top of the supraclypeal area.

Xanthopedia larocai sp. n. collecté dans le dernier surface de cerrado, un type de savanne existant dans la region Nord-est du Paraná (Brésil) -- Jaguariaíva, sur les fléurs de Acosmium subelegans (Legurninosae) et Byrsonima intermedia (Malpighiaceae). Cette est la seconde espèce du genre Xanthopedia (Anthophoridae, Exomalopsinae, Paratetrapediini), représenté jusquà présent par X. iheringii (Friese, 1899). La nouvelle espèce est variable en couleur, mais plus noir que la espèce type et leur pontuaction est plus profond et environné avec une fort carena en le mâle, ou sous une carena en revers V en la femelle sur le faite de la surface supraclypeal.
