Resumo

São propostas novas considerações para o gênero Auyantepuia Gonzalez-Sponga, 1978 (Scorpiones, Chactidae). A análise de novos caracteres, em particular aqueles associados a morfologia das cristas ventrais do quinto segmento do metasoma, reconsidera este gênero como válido. Uma nova espécie, Auyantepuia mottai sp. n., é descrita da região de Manaus na Amazônia brasileira.

ABSTRACT

New considerations are proposed to the genus Auyantepuia Gonzalez-Sponga, 1978 (Scorpiones, Chactidae). The analysis of new characters, in particular the morphology of the ventral carinae of metasomal segment V, allows reconsidering this genus as a valid one. A new species, Auyantepuia mottai sp. n., is described from the region of Manaus in Brazilian Amazonia.

RÉSUMÉ

Des nouvelles considérations sont proposées pour le genre Auyantepuia Gonzalez-Sponga, 1978 (Scorpiones, Chactidae). Lanalyse des nouveaux caractères, en particulier de la morphologie des carènes ventrales de lanneau V du metasoma, permet de reconsidérer ce genre comme valable. Une nouvelle espèce, Auyantepuia mottai sp. n. est décrite de la région de Manaus en Amazonie brésilienne.
