"Transformação total": Por que Kant não desistiu da educação

Resumo

Nesse ensaio argumento que Kant permanece comprometido com a necessidade e a importância fundamental da educação ao longo da sua carreira. Segundo Johann Bernhard Basedow (1724-1790) Kant afirma que a "transformação total" das escolas é necessária, e ele mantém essa perspectiva não apenas na década de 1770, mas, também, em seus últimos anos. Na construção do meu ensaio, eu tento refutar duas recentes interpretações opostas - a saber, a de Reinhard Brandt com um posicionamento kantiano de um precoce "entusiasmo educacional" que mais tarde foi substituído pelo entusiasmo político e a visão de Manfred Kuehn, segundo a qual a crescente importância da autonomia na ética madura de Kant leva-o a diminuir a ênfase na educação.
