A propósito de aproximações e contrastes. O que Kant deve a Wolff?

Resumo

São conhecidos os aspectos da filosofia wolffiana que Kant refutou na Crítica da razão pura e como desenvolveu sua filosofia crítica em oposição ao dogmatismo metafísico. Com os novos conhecimentos dos textos wolffianos, dos quais hoje dispomos, é chegado o momento de perguntarmos o que Kant, não obstante tudo, deve a Wolff, e possivelmente rever o juízo segundo qual o filósofo de Königsberg teve apenas conhecimento indireto do opus metaphysicum wolffiano. Confrontando-nos com tal argumento no âmbito teórico da filosofia kantiana, proponho uma análise comparada dos textos programáticos, em relação tanto a questões metodológicas gerais, como os conceitos próprios de metafísica, de filosofia e de conhecimento, quanto temas específicos, tais quais o “tribunal da razão”, a “revolução copernicana”, “crítica”, Iluminismo, “menoridade”, “connubium rationis atque experientiae”. Nesses temas todos, a influência de Wolff sobre o pensamento kantiano é mais que evidente, frequentemente fornecendo o ponto de partida do raciocínio crítico.

Sonia Carboncini, University of Florence

Sonia Caboncini was born in Naples but raised and educated in Florence. After receiving a classical and humanistic education, completed her philosophy studies at the University of Florence (Italy) in 1981 with a dissertation on Christian August Crusius under the guidance of Professor Claudio Cesa. She subsequently moved to Germany, where she earned her PhD in philosophy summa cum laude under Professor Norbert Hinske in Trier (1987), with a dissertation on Christian Wolff, published by Fromann Holzboog. She then devoted herself to research, working on the Academy-Edition of Leibniz's works, first at the Leibniz Archiv in Hannover under the guidance of Professor Albert Heinekamp, ​​then at the Leibniz Foschungsstelle of the University of Münster with Professor Heinrch Schepers. At the same time, together with Professors Hans Werner Arndt and Jean Ècole, she worked on the edition of Wolff's Gesammelte Werke, in which she still participates as an editor. She has focused particularly on the history of the reception of Wolff's philosophy outside of Germany, the relationship between Leibniz and Wolff, and the evolution of the concept of metaphysics within pre-Kantian philosophy. In addition to numerous philosophical publications, she has also translated books and published editions of ancient texts.
