In the Behavioral Therapy, the Social Skills Training is used to promote socially desired patterns of behavior that aims not only to improve interactions that make social relations possible but also contributes to develop more satisfactory social and professional relations. This work attempted to verify the effects of a group intervention through the analysis of behavioral changes that were identified after the end of the program. The study was developed in a university clinic and had as participants four university students who presented complains concerning interpersonal difficulties. Each participant answered to individual interviews before and after the program, and a self-report inventory. The interventions constituted of twenty-two weekly meetings, lasting two hours approximately. The procedure chosen to evaluate the effects of the intervention was the analysis of the content of the pre and post-intervention interviews, and the social skills inventory (IHS). The results indicated that the participants were able to develop some repertoires such as self-awareness and communication skills, even though some difficulties persisted after the end of the program. It is important to note that this work only attempted to serve as a pilot study. Therefore, in order to get to more reliable conclusions, it is necessary a larger number of participants, a control group, and follow-up.
