Abstract

On September 15th till 17th 2021, scholars from all over the world met digitally to critically discuss various aspects of innovation, innovation research and innovation governance. The online forum was built up around three keynote speeches, a method lab led by Philippe Zittoun, and a paper and a theory lab, in which researchers presented their own research. The overarching theme of the online forum was Governance(s) of Innovation, which was discussed from various angles.

Author Biographies

Carolina Bagattolli, Department of Economics, Public Policy Postgraduate Program, Federal University of Paraná (PPPP/UFPR), Curitiba

Graduated in Economics at the Regional University of Blumenau (FURB, Brazil), master and PhD in Science and Technology Policy at the State University of Campinas (Unicamp, Brazil), specialist in Public Strategic Management and in Social Economy and Social Technology (Unicamp). She is currently associated professor at the Department of Economics and the Public Policy Post-Graduate Program (4P), both at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR, Brazil). Her research areas include analysis of public policies, stakeholder analysis and mimesis in the public policy – mainly on the Science, Technology and Innovation area; the study of innovative behavior on the part of the business sector in different countries, Latin American thinking on Science, Technology and Society, Social Economy and the field of Social Technology.

Tiago Brandão, História, Territórios e Comunidades - CFE NOVA FCSH, Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas

Holds a PhD in History from NOVA University of Lisbon. He is a scholar and integrated researcher at the Centre for Functional Ecology - Science for People & the Planet (CFE). A historian by formation, he actively publishes on STI - Science, Technology, and Innovation fields, mainly institutional and intellectual histories.

Mónica Edwards-Schachter, Lecturer at the University of Burgo

Researcher, consultant and trainer in social innovation and STEAM education. She is lecturer of Design thinking at University of Burgos since 2017 and independent evaluator at the European Commission. She was associated at Technopolis group (2017-2019) and worked from 2007 to 2015 at the Institute of Innovation and Knowledge Management in the programmes JAE-doc and Torres Quevedo and other fellowships contracts supported by the National Spanish Research Council and the European Social Fund. Her research interests focus on social innovation and the 2030 Agenda of Sustainable Development, Living Labs and development of creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship joined to STEAM competencies.

Rick Hölsgens, Technische Universität Dortmund

Researcher at the Social Research Centre of TU Dortmund University, Faculty of Social Sciences (Germany), where he has led and worked on several projects. He obtained his bachelor's degree in Industrial Design from Eindhoven University of Technology (the Netherlands) and subsequently obtained an MA and MSc (research master) in Science and Technology Studies from Maastricht University (the Netherlands). His current work focuses on social innovation and changing social practices, in particular with reference to sustainability transitions and climate change adaptation governance.

Cornelius Schubert, Technische Universität Dortmund

Professor for Sociology of Science and Technology at the Technische Universität Dortmund, Faculty of Social Sciences. His main focus is innovation research, especially in Science and Technology Studies, Micro-sociology of technology development and use, Inter- and transdisciplinary research collaboration, and qualitative and digital methods. He brings a critique of the dominant innovation paradigm in science and technology studies (STS). joining several colleagues in the literature, taking part in the recently emerged field of the Critical Studies of Innovation He is Chairman of the German Society for Science and Technology Studies and a Member of the Board of the Section Science and Technology Studies within the German Sociological Association.
