This article aims to verify the relationship between the prices of the maizein the states of Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina in order to test thevalidity of the Law of One Price at those markets over the October, 2002 to March,2009 period. Monthly data were extracted from the Center of Advanced Studies forApplied Economy (CEPEA) of ESALQ / USP. The employed methods understand thetests for unitary root and Johansen´s co-integration, impulse-response function, decomposition of the variance of the forecasting error and estimate of the vector error correction model (VEC). The results showed that the Law of One Price wasnot perfectly verified for the regional maize markets analyzed, when restrictionswere imposed in the coefficient of relationship of long period.Downloads
