The good ruler’s issue can be taking into account from a conservativepoint of view (one that intends to restate the classical political philosophy learning),and in the sake of a modern project. Leo Strauss and Alexander Kojève haveplanned the challenge, each one by their own way, to find out in Xenophon’sdialogue Hiero some “tyrannical” features which improve, on the one hand, andon the other belittle a possible achievement of perfect political life. The aim ofthis paper is to surround this polemical debate between friends supportingdistinct and at the same time corresponding views.Downloads
