This paper suggests that Kantian thought about language is intimately connected with the conception, advanced in the Critique, of philosophy as a special kind of discourse. In order to show the pertinence of this thesis, the paper deals with a famous metaphor employed by Kant in the first Critique: reason as a kind of organic structure.
