Fichte in the First Introduction to the Science of Knowledge of 1797 distinguishes between two possible systems of philosophy. His idealistic philosophy, based on the absolute 'I', is opposed to dogmatic philosophy, whose foundation is a thing-in-itself. Fichte argues that practical interest decides which system is the one that allows the freedom of people.
My displacement is to recognise patriarchy as a dogmatic system because it is built on a sexualised, hierarchical and excluding binarism. Patriarchy imposes on embodied bodies, gender roles that it seeks to (re)produce. In this way it oppresses intersubjectively embodied consciousnesses. And it opposes Fichte's deduction of the body as a sphere of freedom in the Foundations of Natural Law (1796), which demonstrates the free action that people can take in the world. I propose to recover the idealistic spirit to reflect on violence and emancipatory possibilities.
