Abstract

T he philosophy of Sartre is recognized for the unre s t r icted de f e nse of fre e dom: the absolute purific a t ion of the tra ns c e nde ntal field bases Being and Nothingness. However, this work generated a series of critique due to the difficulty about passing to the plain conc rete and de s c r i b i ng society and history. This article intends to detach the situation, counterpart of freedom and, therefore, to show that in the 1940s Sartre extends the situation notion, or engages freedom, allowing the passage of ontology to history.
