A Obra Theda Skocpol e o Método-Histórico Comparativo (MHC)
Resumo
O presente estudo visa a explorar e discutir o Método Histórico Comparativo (MHC) como um método adequado para as Ciências Sociais em geral e para as Relações Internacionais, em particular. Para tal, o estudo abordará o MHC de maneira a delinear suas principais características, adequadas para estudos qualitativos de caráter small-n. Ademais, se abordará o process-tracing como ferramenta complementar ao MHC, auxiliando o pesquisador a auferir causalidade ao fenômeno estudado. Para uma melhor compreensão do método, se analisará a obra de Theda Skocpol, como exemplo de MHC e de rastreamento de processos na pesquisa qualitativa e na formulação teórica generalizável. Um diagrama de Venn será proposto para a obra da autora, com o objetivo de melhor demonstrar a utilização do MHC e do process-tracing.
