Abstract

A compreensão e a representação do espaço geográfico são essenciais para a elaboração de documentos cartográficos, que são formados por base de dados espaciais. O desenvolvimento desta pesquisa surgiu da necessidade de se abstrair informações do mundo real de forma organizada e estruturada para que pudessem ser utilizadas nos documentos cartográficos. A construção do conhecimento foi elaborada utilizando a técnica de mapeamento de informação conhecida como mapa mental. Utilizou-se o programa Inspiration para gerar esse mapa, cujo objetivo foi estudar a Cartografia Cognitiva no que tange aos mapas mentais visando à construção do conhecimento para geração de bases de dados espaciais, apresentando os conceitos dessa técnica de mapeamento e investigando sua utilização.
