New deadline: Call for Submissions for Thematic Issue

2021-06-06

Themes for that issue:  Information, Industry 4.0 and Artificial Intelligence in ecosystems

Deadline: May 31st, 2021.

Issue: v.10, n.3, sept./dec. 2021

The AtoZ Journal objective is to highlight and disseminate, in a free and open way, interdisciplinary research results related to the areas of Science, Technology, Information and Knowledge Management.

We invite researchers from different areas to share their knowledge about new practices in data, information and knowledge that present innovative and interdisciplinary approaches by submitting articles to the thematic issue with a central theme in Information, Industry 4.0 and Artificial Intelligence (AI) applied to different ecosystems. This issue is organized by professors Dr. Rafael Santos (National Institute for Space Research - INPE) Dr. Felisa Córdova (Finis Terrae University - UFT) and Dr. Edson Ronaldo Guarido Filho (Federal University of Paraná - UFPR). The issue will be published as number 3, volume 10 of 2021.

Theme Background

Currently, investments that promote disruptive technologies and digital transformation accompanied by advances in Industry 4.0 allow the development of intelligent systems in different domains and ecosystems. Ecosystems assist in the design, analysis and mapping of the physical world in cyberspace using digital entities, processes and transactions. In turn, hyperspace allows the interconnection of multiple spaces of computers and networks that are interconnected with each other mainly in the cyber, social, technological and cognitive domains.

Technological advances and social and economic demands have enabled the creation of systems capable of collecting large volumes of data on various aspects, such as social interactions, industrial processes, economic and governmental activities, monitoring of the environment, among others.

Some examples of these systems are sensor networks of different types (from those created with dedicated equipment to those composed of popular devices such as cell phones), social networks, systems for collecting and disseminating government data on the Internet, Internet of Things (IoT), People's Internet (IoP), Service Internet (IoS) and systems and process integration in Industry 4.0, and many others; representing diverse ecosystems with different combinations of technologies, interactions and purposes.

There is a huge demand to analyze this data in order to extract information and knowledge about these processes, to better understand them and potentially improve them. Artificial intelligence techniques are increasingly used to analyze and classify data and summarize them for later actions.

This issue will address the transformations arising from the role of Information in the different ecosystems that point to new directions in Industry 4.0 and the capillarity that has the applications of Artificial Intelligence from the following axes:

  • Axis 1: Industrial Ecosystems 4.0
  • Axis 2: Smart Government and/or city ecosystems
  • Axis 3: Services, Trade and Sustainability Ecosystems
  • Axis 4: Other AI Ecosystems

Objective

There are many research and development actions involving the collection and processing of data and information for process improvement, related to topics such as Industry 4.0, Internet of Things, big data and artificial intelligence along the lines mentioned in this call, and case studies and methodologies on how add value to the systems and applications related to the axes being considered.

In this context, we ask for the submission of unpublished works that include empirical data, relevant implications for the expansion of the frontiers of knowledge on the central theme and its axes and that demonstrate innovative approaches, applications and/or methodologies.

Scope

We encourage the submission of scientific articles and short papers in Portuguese, Spanish or English that are characterized as rigorous research related to one of the axes and subtopics indicated below:
