Memoria Repository in light of the instrument for evaluating the Pervasive Information Architecture and Information Findability

Abstract

Introduction: This research contemplates the direction to improve the provision of information in the Institucional Repository of Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Rio Grande do Norte, entitled Memoria. It aims to analyze this Repository, from the intersection of the attributes of Pervasive Information Architecture and Information Findability. Method: It is bibliographical research, of an exploratory nature, which uses the checklist instrument to evaluate informational environments, involving Information Findability and Pervasive Information Architecture. Results: It indicates, from the checklist, the attributes that are covered in the Repository, those that are partially covered and those that are not covered, emphasizing that this digital informational environment must include the autocomplete feature, the possibility of changing the contrast on the pages, the demonstration of access statistics to documents, operationalize functionality in icons that are under construction and pervasiveness for other systems. Conclusions: the Memoria Institutional Repository has potential for improvement and is an interactive informational environment, with color harmony appropriate to the identity of the linked Institution and the suggestions indicated in this article support the updating and improvement of its functionalities, to offer products and services of effective information.
