Couchsurfing as option of tourist lodging

The main goal of this work is to present a study about couchsurfing, a webpage that is a social network where people around the world keep in touch looking for and offering lodging. The idea was analyze the webpage, its operation and diffusion, the users' profile, who designed that project, for what and what was purpose of its creation. Its evolution since the beginning, how it is financed, and its mission. It was studied the repercussions that the tourist lodging had and it was compared with the different webs that offer this kind of service. It has been accomplished a study about the option of tourist lodging through the social network and web couchsurfing. The data were obtained from several surveys accomplished in the web and the main results are the utilization of this accommodation option among different kinds of tourists and that there is an increase at present.
