The separation between a strictly moral good and happiness — Analytics of KpV — is a constant source of objections to Dialectic and the conjunction of these concepts, characterized as the highest good. In this way, as diagnosed by Hamm (2011), most Kant’s commentators sometimes disapproved and sometimes neglected the role of the highest good in Kantian morality. From an emphasis on Dialectic arguments, we intend to present the coherence of this concept (in response to Beck, 1960) and place it outside the dimension of motivation (in response to Guyer, 2000). In short, we will defend that the highest good is a problem posed by our human finitude, the answer to which requires the occupation of the field of the supersensible that has no determination either from speculative reason or from the moral law. Thus, we can investigate to what extent the primacy and postulates of practical reason justify such occupation.
