Abstract

O mercado de trabalho sofreu um forte impacto em 2020 devido à pandemia da Covid-19, resultando em interrupções nas cadeias de suprimentos e no fechamento temporário de empresas, o que levou ao aumento do desemprego, especialmente entre os trabalhadores de menor renda. Dado esse contexto, o presente estudo teve por objetivo analisar o impacto da pandemia no mercado de trabalho brasileiro, em termos de acesso a formalidade, focando nos trabalhadores de menor renda. Utilizando dados da PNAD Covid-19 de novembro de 2020 e aplicando o modelo logit com efeitos marginais, constatou-se que, de fato, esses trabalhadores foram os mais afetados em termos de acesso ao mercado de trabalho formal. A contaminação foi mais prevalente entre os trabalhadores de baixa renda, enquanto os sintomas da doença afetaram de forma geral, com maior incidência entre aqueles com renda inferior a um salário mínimo.
