ESTIMATIVA DA REMOÇÃO DE CARBONO AZUL NO PARQUE ESTADUAL DO COCÓ BASEADA EM SENSORIAMENTO REMOTO

No contexto da emergência climática, os manguezais urbanos constituem ecossistemas estratégicos para a
mitigação, embora sua gestão seja limitada pela escassez de dados quantitativos sobre seus estoques de carbono.
Este estudo estima o potencial da remoção de Carbono Azul e a distribuição espacial dos estoques no Parque
Estadual do Cocó (PEC), em Fortaleza, Brasil, durante o período de 2010 a 2022. Para isso, empregaram-se técnicas
de geoprocessamento e a integração de produtos de sensoriamento remoto de escala global da (ESA CCI) e regional
(MapBiomas, considerando a camada de solo até 30 cm de profundidade), com o objetivo de quantificar a biomassa
e o carbono orgânico do solo (COS). Os resultados revelam que os manguezais do PEC atuaram como um sumidouro
ativo, com incremento de 11,3% em sua extensão e aumento de 21,5% no estoque total de carbono, passando de
45.988,9 Mg C em 2010 para 5.5871,9 Mg C em 2022. O componente edáfico representou o principal reservatório,
correspondendo a 69,5% do estoque total e apresentando elevada estabilidade temporal. A análise espacial
identificou uma dualidade funcional, com um setor ocidental dinâmico, caracterizado por maior ganho de biomassa,
e um setor oriental que atua como reservatório estável de COS. Com uma capacidade de armazenamento de até
205.049,8 Mg de CO₂ equivalente ao final do período, confirma-se a resiliência do parque frente à pressão urbana,
fornecendo uma linha de base quantitativa fundamental para as Contribuições Nacionalmente Determinadas
(NDCs) e para estratégias de financiamento climático.
