DETERMINAÇÃO DAS VARIAÇÕES VOLUMÉTRICAS NO ISTMO DA ILHA DO MEL UTILIZANDO PDGPS

Abstract

As ações e os projetos envolvendo temas ambientais devem estar apoiados por
uma base geodésica e por uma cartografia de qualidade. Neste sentido o Global
Positioning System (GPS) é um componente eficaz, pois contribui para a formação
de uma base cartográfica precisa num setor do meio ambiente, cujos componentes
estão sendo continuamente alterados, consumidos ou reconstruídos por atividades
orgânicas e humanas, bem como por fenômenos de recirculação física e química.
Com o presente trabalho verificam-se as soluções obtidas utilizando o GPS no
istmo da Ilha do Mel, a qual situa-se na entrada da baía de Paranaguá, no litoral do
estado do Paraná. Buscou-se desenvolver um estudo geodésico nessa área,
obtendo informações que permitiram a geração de Modelos Digitais do Terreno
(MDT) do istmo, possibilitando calcular as variações volumétricas entre diferentes
épocas (1997, 1999 e 2001), quantificando a erosão e/ou progradação ocorridas
nestes períodos. Com a utilização do GPS para detecção das variações
volumétricas na área do istmo, pode-se verificar a sua praticabilidade, além da
viabilidade em função da precisão relativa alcançada.

Determination of volumetric variations which took place at
Ilha do Mel isthmus by means of PDGPS

Abstract

The actions and projects involving environmental themes should be supported by a
geodetic base and by good cartography. In this sense, Global Positioning System
(GPS) is an efficient component to support such research in the marine
environment, where it contributes to develop a uniform cartographie basis in an
altered, consumed or rebuilt by human and organic activities, and by physical and
chemical recirculation phenomena as well. This work aims at analysing solutions
obtained with the use of GPS in the isthmus of the Ilha do Mel, an island located at
the entrance of the Paranaguá bay, on the coast of the state of Paraná. A geodetic
study in Digital Terrain Models (DTM) of the isthmus, thus making the calculation
of the volumetric variations at different times (1997, 1999 e 2001). In this work,
the applications of high precision of GPS in those marine environments were
investigated, being restrictions. With the use of GPS for the detection of
volumetric variations in the area of the isthmus, its performance may be checked,
along with the viability, according to the relative precision obtained.
