Author Guidelines

The articles submitted to JABS  will be sent to ad hoc reviewers, with a doctorate degree, who will evaluate the importance of the addressed issue to the Education field; the organization of the text structure and of the bibliographic references; the articulated, unified text production, proper to academic writing; in addition to general issues related to the study focus and the theoretical and methodological appropriations found in the article. Articles must apply, necessarily, the format aspects listed below:

I – Agreeing with the Focus and Scope of the journal;

II – Maximum extent of 15 (fifteen) pages, including title, abstract/resumo, keywords/palavras-chaves, pictures, tables and bibliographic references;

III – Abstract with a maximum of 230 (two hundred and thirty) words in Portuguese, English and French, and if necessary, also in a specific language;

IV – Maximum of 05 (five) keywords in Portuguese, English and French, and if necessary, also in a specific language;

V – Text file format “.doc”, written in Times New Roman, size 12, 1,5 line spacing, A4 paper size, margins of 2,5cm and page numbers at the bottom right corner;

VI – Identification at the top of the page, in bold, which is the title of the article in Portuguese, English and French, and if necessary, also in a specific language. In case of research funding, the funding institution must be mentioned in a footnote;

VII – The citations and reference list should be made solely on the 6th APA style. Ed. (American Psychological Association). (Please click for APA examples.)

VIII – Do not enter the name of the author in the manuscript. A JABS  adopts procedures to avoid conflicts of interest during the evaluation phases of the submitted articles. In order to prevent authors’ identification, do not mention the author’s name explicitly in the body text, footnotes or quotes. We suggest the use of the format “XXX” instead of the author’s name and of the book or document title. In case of publication approval, our editorial personnel will contact you to recover the anonymous information.

IX – Footnotes must be used to absolutely necessary information. It is not permitted to use bibliographic footnotes, and you must identify the references in the body text, such as: (SURNAME, Year, Page).

X – Pictures and tables (300 DPIs) must be sent in the body text. At the top, you must indicate the number and title (Ex.: Figure 1 – Educational Policies Table). You must indicate the source at the bottom (Ex.: Source: Afro Brasil Museum’s Collection) and, if necessary, explanatory texts with a maximum of 03 (three) lines.

JABS  keeps the right of not publishing articles of the same author in periods of time shorter than 01 (one) year. The editors keep the right of not accepting the article in which corrections were required, in case they do not respond the demands by the reviewers. The publication of articles must follow the format rules adopted by the journal.
