Abstract

O processo de financeirização da economia mundial intensificou-se após a década de 1970 movido pela ideologia neoliberal. Esse processo está intimamente ligado à criação e à comercialização de títulos de dívida e derivativos, principalmente títulos da dívida pública. No Brasil, o processo de financeirização está estreitamente relacionado ao endividamento do setor público, eixo fundamental da acumulação rentista-patrimonial no país. O objetivo deste artigo é mostrar que o processo de financeirização da economia brasileira é conduzido principalmente pelo Estado e, também, apresentar como esse processo tem afetado sua estrutura patrimonial, tornando-a mais frágil no sentido minskyano. Os resultados encontrados para o período de 2008 a 2014 revelam um aumento da fragilidade do setor público brasileiro coincidindo com o aprofundamento da financeirização no Brasil.
