A comparative study of gravimetric global models,EIGEN-GL04C, EIGEN-CG03C, AND EIGEN-05C by using a regional model and GPS/NIV data for the Paraná State.

Abstract


A qualitative analysis of geoid height associated with the of combined global gravity models EIGEN- GL04C obtained from the new gravimetrical missions GRACE (Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment) and the laser mission (LAGEOS - Laser Geodynamics Satellites); the global gravity model EIGEN-CG03C coming from CHAMP (Challenging Minisatellite Payload) and GRACE
missions; and the new model EIGEN-05C obtained from the mission laser (LAGEOS) and gravimetric (GRACE) are presented. For evaluating these models, geoid heights derivates from GPS observation on bench-marks and a local gravity geoid model based on the remove-restore technique trough Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) were used for decomposing the different contributions of the height. The Preliminary Geopotential Model 2000 (PGM2000A) developed up to degree 360 was used as reference for long and regional wavelengths; a gravimetric digital
model obtained from the combination of gravimetric and topographic data and terrestrial data was used to improve the resolution for the modeling short wavelengths. The evaluation study within in a region of study understood between the parallels 22ºS and 27ºS, and the meridians 48ºW and 55ºW, in the Paraná State area.
