n. 13 - UMA INTRODUÇÃO À ONTOLOGIA DA ANTECIPAÇÃO
Resumo
O artigo apresenta a ideia de sistemas de antecipação, ou seja, de sistemas que tomam suas decisões no presente de acordo com as previsões sobre algo que eventualmente acontecerá. A definição de antecipação mais conhecida ainda é a de Rosen: "Um sistema antecipatório é um sistema que contém um modelo preditivo de si próprio e/ou de seu ambiente, o que permite que ele mude o estado em um instante de acordo com as previsões do modelo relativas a um instante posterior". O erro mais óbvio cometido por quase todos quando confrontados pela primeira vez com a idéia de antecipação é pensar que a antecipação é uma característica que possuímos porque somos agentes cognitivos altamente complexos e maravilhosamente sofisticados. Isso não é o que a teoria da antecipação afirma. De fato, a principal surpresa incorporada na teoria da antecipação é que se trata de um fenômeno generalizado presente em todos os tipos de realidades e caracterizando-os. O artigo apresenta alguns dos primeiros trabalhos de Rosen sobre a antecipação e explica em alguns detalhes determinadas sutilezas.
